Hold onto Peace during the Chaos

"For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." 1 Corinthians 14:33

We live in a time where it's easy to be overwhelmed with a chicken little mindset. You know, "the sky is falling" kind of deal. We see and hear of all the iniquities of the times we're living in, and the wars happening around us. All of the end time prophecies being pushed onto us and all the "God told me to tell you this" videos circulating the internet. Even in our personal lives we may sometimes feel like our own little world is crashing down around us. Now, don't get me wrong, Jesus will return, but no one knows the day nor the hour. We cannot let the chaos overtake our minds. Bad things happen daily and this world is living proof of that. Certainly, it's scary and confusing, but God doesn't offer a spirit of fear nor confusion, he offers us peace and love. Peace knowing that God is handling it, that God is in control of all the things we worry about the most, all of the fear and worries we may have for the future. How do we get that sense of peace when we're sitting in the middle of a chaotic storm?

"Be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22

We pray. We cast all of our fears, all of our worries, all the confusion; we give it to the Lord in Jesus' name and trust and believe wholeheartedly that He's already got it handled. When life gets scary and confusing the best thing we can do is lay it at his feet and rest. Rest assured knowing that the almighty creator has complete and total control over any and every situation that we come across.

In the world we live in today, it's hard to remember the fact that we can't control everything. We like to believe that if we post about it enough or argue our point enough that we can change the trajectory of everything happening around us. It's time to let that go. As cliche as it sounds, let go; let God. I heard the other day someone say that the best thing we can do when the sky is falling in our lives, is to hold fast to two statements. "I still believe." and "I trust in your will." As we wake up each day we must remember to first, thank God for another day/opportunity, and secondly, let Him know in prayer, "Father, No matter how bad things may look around me, I still believe that you have a plan for me and I trust in your will over my life." Those two simple statements and knowing that God's love for his children is unfailing is hands down the simplest way I know how to hold on to the peace that only God can provide.

About Me

Pick your path.jpg

All my life, I've known there's something more-something bigger than myself. I've wandered off a little too far sometimes, but never fail to come back to who calls me-God. For every failure I've had, I've been rescued each time, more lessons were learned, more experiences battled, more questions asked and answered. As a kid, my parents always told me they don't have the answers to everything. I NEED answers, curiosity never killed this cat, it's inspiration at this point. I like to spark conversations, get ya thinking-for yourself, for once-also anytime GOD's word can be used to encourage at least one person, it's a win for the Kingdom; Amen!
